Lope Ariyo Cookery School runs corporate cooking experiences built around the food of West Africa. Our sessions are hands-on, instructor-led and designed for groups of 12 to 30 people. As a mobile cookery school, we come to your venue fully equipped or find a suitable kitchen close to your office.
We offer a range of formats, from a competitive Jollof Wars cook-off to a Buka (a Nigerian street canteen) show down session covering the full spread of Yoruba okele. For teams looking for a social impact angle, our Feed the Community add-on adds a CSR dimension: your group cooks double portions and the surplus goes to people experiencing food insecurity in London.
Good for team away-days, onboarding weeks, client entertainment, CSR days and company-wide socials.
Some of the amazing companies we have had the pleasure of hosting for private events:
A kitchen, or live online
The format flexes to your team. In-person when the group is in London and you want them out of the office; live online when the team is distributed across cities or countries and still needs a proper afternoon together.
Your group will enjoy palm wine on arrival, before popping your aprons on and getting stuck in. They split into stations, cook a full West African menu together, and sit down to a long shared table when the food is ready.
You’ll get plenty of hands-on time to perfect your cooking skills before eating the delicious meal you’ve cooked together. Our instructors run the kitchen so your team can focus on cooking and on each other. We handle the pace, the plating and the washing up. You just bring the group.
Send us an email at school@lopeariyo.com
For distributed teams, we run the same session live over Zoom. A few days before the event, we'll send over a prep sheet, a shopping list and an equipment list, plus any hard-to-find ingredients direct to their door.
On the day your instructor leads a live cook-along from our kitchen. We demo each step, answer questions on the fly, and keeping the whole group in sync so you all sit down to eat together, on camera, at the same time.
