What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They are used to make websites work, to remember your preferences, or to track behaviour across sessions and sites.

How we use cookies

We have designed this website to use as few cookies as possible. What follows is a full account of every cookie-related technology active on school.lopeariyo.com.

1. Analytics — PostHog

We use PostHog to understand how visitors use the site — which pages are read, and where people stop before booking. No analytics data is shared with advertising platforms, and we never sell it.

Whether this uses cookies is your choice. If you accept analytics cookies, PostHog stores a small identifier on your device, so that we can tell a returning visitor from a new one and follow a journey that spans more than a single visit. If you decline, it runs without storing anything: your visit is still counted, but anonymously, and we have no way to recognise you when you come back. If you change your mind later and withdraw your consent, the identifier is deleted.

PostHog also records anonymised session replays, so we can see where the site is confusing to use. Everything you type is masked before it leaves your browser, and the booking widget and every enquiry or email form are excluded from recording entirely.

2. Booking — Ticket Tailor

Class bookings are handled by Ticket Tailor, which loads inside a window on our class pages. Once you open it, Ticket Tailor sets its own cookies to carry your basket and checkout through to payment. These are necessary for booking to work at all — without them a booking cannot be completed. They are governed by Ticket Tailor's own privacy and cookie policies.

3. Marketing and personalisation — Mailchimp

We use Mailchimp to send our newsletter and class updates, and to show the occasional sign-up form on the site.

If you accept advertising cookies, Mailchimp's on-site script stores a cookie and a small number of entries in your browser's local storage, which it uses to decide when to show you a form and to avoid showing it again once you have responded.

If you decline, that script does not run and you will not see a Mailchimp form at all. Signing up through one of our own forms is unaffected — that goes to Mailchimp from our server and stores nothing on your device.

Cookie type: marketing and personalisation. Legal basis: consent. You can opt out by declining advertising cookies in our consent banner, by unsubscribing from any email we send, or by clearing your browser cookies.

4. Embedded social content — TikTok and Instagram

Some pages show posts that creators have shared about the school on TikTok and Instagram. These do not load automatically. Each one appears as a still preview, and nothing is requested from TikTok or Instagram until you click to play it.

If you do click, your browser loads that post directly from the platform, and the platform may set its own cookies and collect information about your visit — including your IP address — under its own policies. We do not control those cookies and they are not needed for this website to work. To avoid them entirely, simply do not activate an embedded post.

5. Security — Cloudflare Turnstile

Our contact and enquiry forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell real people from automated spam. It may set a cookie as part of that check. This is strictly necessary to keep the forms usable and does not track you across other websites.

6. Error monitoring — Sentry

We use Sentry to be told when something on the site breaks, so we can fix it. It records technical details of the error — the page, the browser, and what went wrong. It is not used to track you or to build a profile.

7. On-site surveys and your cookie choice

Our consent banner is provided by CookieYes. It stores one cookie recording the choice you make, so we do not have to ask again on every page. You can change your choice at any time through the banner.

We occasionally ask a short question on the site — for example, what stopped you completing a booking. So that we do not ask you the same thing twice, your browser stores a small record of which questions you have already seen. This is kept in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie, and it holds no answer you gave and nothing that identifies you.

8. Traffic measurement — Metricool

We use Metricool to see how much traffic the site receives and where visitors arrive from. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device.

Each page view sends a single request carrying the page address, the size of your browser window and the site you came from, along with your IP address and browser type — which any request to any website necessarily includes. We use it to count visits and compare where they come from, not to recognise you or follow you between sites.

Cookie type: none. Legal basis: legitimate interests. Because it stores nothing on your device, it is not covered by the consent banner. If you would rather not be counted, a browser-level tracker blocker will stop the request.

9. Advertising — Meta (Facebook and Instagram)

We advertise classes on Facebook and Instagram. If you accept advertising cookies, Meta's pixel records that you visited the site and which class pages you viewed, so we can tell which adverts lead to bookings.

This stores two cookies on your device, _fbp and _fbc, for 90 days each, and Meta may set a cookie called fr on facebook.com.

Nothing reaches Meta unless you accept advertising cookies — not the pixel, not the record of the page you viewed, and not the copy we send from our own server. If you withdraw your consent, sending stops immediately, without you having to reload the page.

We never send Meta your email address, phone number or name. Bookings themselves are recorded by Ticket Tailor's own Meta pixel inside the booking window, under Ticket Tailor's policies.

Managing cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you view the cookies currently stored, block all or specific types, and delete them at any time. Blocking cookies used for booking will prevent you from completing a class booking.
