Terms and Conditions

Last Updated: April 2026

1. About Us

These terms and conditions govern your use of the Lope Ariyo Cookery School website and your booking of any class, event, or experience offered by the school.

The school is operated by Lope Ariyo, sole trader, trading as Lope Ariyo Culinary and Creative Group (t/a Lope Ariyo Cookery School).

Contact: school@lopeariyo.com

Website: school.lopeariyo.com

By booking a class or using our website, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully before making a booking.

2. Booking a Class

All class bookings are subject to availability. A booking is confirmed when you receive a booking confirmation email from us or from our ticketing platform (Ticket Tailor, Eventbrite, ClassBento, or EatWith).

We reserve the right to decline a booking at our discretion. Where we do so and payment has been taken, a full refund will be issued.

Class capacity is limited. We recommend booking early to secure your place. Joining the waitlist for a sold-out class does not guarantee a place.

3. Payment

Full payment is required at the time of booking. We accept payment via our ticketing platforms (Ticket Tailor, Eventbrite, ClassBento, EatWith) and gift voucher codes where applicable. Payment is processed securely by Stripe or the relevant platform’s payment provider. We do not store your card details.

Prices are stated in pounds sterling (GBP) and are inclusive of any applicable taxes.

4. Cancellation and Refunds

Please read our Cancellation and Refund Policy at school.lopeariyo.com/legal/cancellation-policy, which forms part of these terms.

In summary:

  • Full refund if you cancel 7 or more days before the class date
  • Monetary voucher (not a cash refund) if you cancel with more than 48 hours notice but less than 7 days before the class
  • No refund or voucher for cancellations with less than 48 hours notice
  • Partial refunds apply only where the class price is reduced after your booking for a class yet to occur
  • Gift vouchers are non-refundable
  • If the school cancels a class, a full refund will be issued

5. Class Changes

We reserve the right to make reasonable changes to class content, format, location, or instructor at any time. We will endeavour to give you as much notice as possible.

In the event of a significant change that materially affects your booking, you will be offered a full refund or the option to transfer your booking to an alternative date.

6. Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Ensuring the information you provide at the time of booking is accurate, including any dietary requirements or allergies
  • Arriving on time — we may not be able to accommodate latecomers after the class has begun
  • Behaving respectfully toward other participants and our team
  • Complying with any health and safety instructions given during the class
  • Ensuring you are fit to participate — if you have any health concerns, please contact us before booking

7. Dietary and Health Information

We ask for dietary requirements and food allergy information during the booking process. It is your responsibility to provide accurate and complete information. We cannot guarantee that our classes are free from allergens. If you have a severe allergy or a medical condition that may be affected by participation, please contact us before booking at school@lopeariyo.com.

We will take reasonable steps to accommodate dietary requirements but cannot guarantee this in all circumstances.

8. Photography and Video

During classes, we may take photographs and videos for use in our marketing materials, including on our website and social media. We will ask for your explicit consent before capturing or using images or video that feature you. You are under no obligation to consent and refusing will not affect your participation.

9. Intellectual Property

All recipes, teaching materials, techniques, and content shared during our classes are the intellectual property of Lope Ariyo and the Lope Ariyo Cookery School. You are welcome to cook the recipes at home for personal use. You may not reproduce, publish, or commercialise our recipes, techniques, or materials without our prior written consent.

10. Gift Vouchers

Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase unless otherwise stated. Gift vouchers are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash. They may be used toward any class offered by the school within their validity period. Lost or stolen gift vouchers cannot be replaced.

11. Corporate and Private Bookings

Corporate and private event bookings are subject to separate terms agreed at the time of booking. Please contact school@lopeariyo.com to discuss your requirements. A deposit may be required to secure a date for corporate and private bookings.

12. Liability

We take reasonable care to ensure that our classes are delivered safely and to a high standard. However, to the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any loss or damage to personal property during a class
  • We are not liable for any injury arising from failure to follow instructions given during the class
  • Our total liability to you in connection with a booking shall not exceed the amount paid for that booking

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

13. Complaints

If you are unhappy with any aspect of your class or experience, please contact us as soon as possible at school@lopeariyo.com. We aim to respond to all complaints within 5 working days.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available at school.lopeariyo.com/legal/terms-and-conditions. Continued use of our website or services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

15. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
