For one evening, we'll cook our way through Eat with Afia together, with Afia Amoako cooking alongside us, then sit down to a table filled with every dish we've made.

Eat with Afia is a celebration of Ghanaian cooking, and every recipe is plant-based. Most needed no adapting at all, which says a lot about how plant-forward Ghanaian food already is. Alongside the recipes, Afia digs into the history and science behind staple ingredients, techniques like fermentation, and the foundations of great jollof and fufu. Expect everything from roasted plantains and kebab mushrooms to groundnut soup and garden egg stew. Every dish on the night is plant-based.
Cook dishes from our curated selection of recipes from Eat with Afia. We do all the shopping, so when you arrive your ingredients are measured out at your station and ready to cook. No hunting for ingredients, no washing up at home.

Dr Afia Amoako shares plant-based Ghanaian and West African recipes with more than 300,000 followers as the creator of Eat with Afia, and is known for pairing her food with the culture and ingredients behind it. She brings a scientist's eye to the kitchen too: she holds a PhD in epidemiology, and lives in Toronto, which makes this a rare chance to cook with her in London.
Afia will be with us all evening, demoing recipes from the book and answering your questions as you cook. Whether it's a technique you've never tried or the story behind a dish, this is your chance to ask the person who wrote it.
Once everything's cooked, we'll sit down together, share every dish and talk about how we found cooking from the book. You'll taste far more of the book than you could cook alone, and meet people who love food as much as you do. Dessert is on us.
Bring a container or two, as there's always something worth taking home.
Three to four hours of cooking, learning, eating and conversation.
Loved what you ate? Take every recipe home with a copy of Eat with Afia, available as an add-on at checkout and supplied by our bookshop partner, Ebi's Cookbook Store & Pantry.
Add it to your order and have it signed by Afia on the night.
This event is not suitable for anyone with a peanut or soya allergy. Peanuts and soya (including tofu) are used in several dishes on the night, and every station cooks with them.
For food safety reasons, we can't allow food cooked elsewhere to be brought in. Everything eaten on the day is cooked on-site.
